Strangers

Yes, we have become strangers. I know it's been a while, and I don't even have a good excuse. I'm going to try to catch up on few of our recent events, but it's going to take a couple of posts...sorry! :) First is Mother's Day. I had a great day with some exciting visitors. Our favorite friends (family really) from AZ came to spend the weekend with us. We have missed them so much! We had lots of fun with them at soccer, Bananas Fun Park, the dinosaur museum, and the river. Of course, there was also mountain biking involved :) The next event might seem silly to most of you, but it was important to us :) Our yellow lab Layla had her 10th birthday. We've had her since she was a puppy and it's hard to believe that she is already so old! She doesn't do much anymore and she is such a good dog.
Soccer is finally over! Don't get me wrong, it was fun and the girls loved it, but it's nice to have a break before next season. It has been so good for the girls and Chad. He is trying really hard to learn "girl sports" since he doesn't have a boy to teach wrestling/football! He is going to be one of Carli's coaches next season...should be fun! The Brownlows were here to watch their last game :0)
An exciting event is Regan graduated from Joy School this month! For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a preschool group we put together that is taught by the moms. We had a curriculum we followed and we rotated to a different house each week. A lot of work but a lot of fun!! She is already missing her Joy School friends!Carli is done with 1st grade (CRAZY!) and is already excited for 2nd grade. She has grown so much this last school year and is a great student! She had a great teacher and we will miss her!
Summer has officially started and we have already been sooooo busy! I will update more later. We will try not to be strangers! Happy Summer!

"Someone"

a mother is someone who thinks going to the grocery store alone is relaxing.
a mother is someone who never gets tired of telling her labor/delivery stories.
a mother is someone who loves the smell of a soft newborn in her arms.
a mother is someone who stays up all night with a sick baby and never gets a nap the next day.
a mother is someone who takes thousands of pictures but can't find hardly any of herself.
a mother is someone who loves her children even when they walk through the house covered in mud.
a mother is someone who gains 60 lbs. while pregnant and STILL has more children.
a mother is someone who prays everyday.
a mother is someone who never gets tired of looking at her children's baby pictures.
a mother is someone who has the flu but doesn't get to call in sick.
a mother is someone who needs a date (or two) with her husband every once in a while.
a mother is someone who serves selflessly everyday.
a mother is someone who doesn't get a cookie because her child's got eaten by the dog.
a mother is someone who can't help but smile when she looks at her children.
a mother is someone that may be ordinary, but has an extraordinary calling.
a mother is someone.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Hope it was a great day!
ps-I know the pictures are pretty scary...sorry!! I hope to never have hair or a chubby face like that again :)
